McConaughey, an ‘Interstellar’ explorer

Christopher Nolan, the director of ‘Inception’ and ‘The Dark Knight Trilogy’ is now awaiting the screening of his new movie, ‘Interstellar,’ on November 7th of this year. The movie follows a group of venturous explorers who break the space-time limits to seek new worlds after Earth has become unfit for harboring human life.

The actions is set sometime in the future when, due to the disastrous actions of people during the 20th century, the Earth as we know it today has disappeared forever. Entire countries have collapsed along with their government and economies, food is hard to come by and well established institutions such as NASA are gone. In these dark times for mankind, a group of heroes emerge who pledge to save mankind from an unavoidable slow death on Earth. However, this time, the universe steps in to help when a wormhole is discovered. Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway join a team of astronauts and venture inside the wormhole, surpassing human limitations of space and time travel. They discover new worlds, each filled with its own wonders and dangers.

Nolan’s ‘Interstellar’ is based on the scientific theories of Kip Stephen Thorne, a physicist renowned for his contributions to gravitational physics and astrophysics. A longtime friend of both Carl Sagan and Stephen Hawkings, Thorne is best known for his controversial theory regarding wormholes which, he says, can be used for time travel.
