Stallone wants more violence in Expendables 4

Sylvester Stallone is not done with his star filled franchise The Expendables and is planning another sequel but this time he won’t hold back. The actor and director was displeased with the reception of the third movie mainly because the rating did not fit with his expectations. The movie was rated PG- 13, something that is not exactly a “do what you want” sign but a “watch where you’re treading” one. Because The Expendables 3 was PG-13 it insured a wider audience but reduced the magic that the franchise is supposed to show.Other problems were at play also.

The actor shared in a recent interview with CraveOnline his thoughts regarding the rating and whether if the next installment will suffer the same treatment. His answer is unsurprising : “I believe it was a horrible miscalculation on everyone’s part in trying to reach a wider audience, but in doing such, diminish the violence that the audience expects. I’m quite certain it won’t happen again.” Reassuring words for die hard action fans who grew up with the old era of action movies. Knowing that Stallone will return to his roots with the fourth film now leaves a lot of speculation regarding who will join the all ready crowded cast of action icons. We already had Jet Li, Jason Statham, Chuck Norris and Arnold Schwarzenegger in the previous movies.Another one of The Expendable 3’s problems was its premature leaking on the web and a rather logical one at that as it did not gather as many people at the cinema as the other two films did. It did no do well at the box office.

In other words, the fourth installment will be rated R and Sylvester Stallone admits that there will be other Expendables movies coming in the future. Just how much stuff can they blow up? The Expendables 4 was confirmed way back in March by Pierce Brosnan who will star in the movie. Stallone said that he wants Dwayne Johnson to be the next villain but that remains to be seen as it’s still very early for confirmations and the last one barely came out this year.
