Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge revealed for next year

The Galaxy S6 has been the subject of many discussions and rumors, but we finally have some sort of confirmation about the existence of Project Zero thanks to SamMobile. Since we’ve got used to SamMobile having reliable sources, we can pretty much say that the Galaxy S6 has been confirmed as Samsung’s upcoming flagship. What’s more interesting about this piece of news is that the Galaxy S6 won’t come along, instead with a brother in the tradition of the Galaxy Note 4 and its simultaneous launch alongside the Galaxy Note Edge with a curved display on the side. It seems the Galaxy S6 will also be available in a Galaxy S6 Edge version, with the same type of edge display like on the Galaxy Note Edge, but on both its sides.

If the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge release is any sort of pattern, we do think that the Galaxy S6 will be an international version of Samsung’s latest flagship, while the Galaxy S6 Edge (name subject to change in the future) might be a limited edition smartphone released only in select markets and countries. In any case, one thing is for sure, as per SamMobile: two Galaxy S6 releases are to be expected, one regular phone with the usual flat (probably Super AMOLED) display and another with a curved display. While we don’t have confirmation on our previous supposition that the Galaxy S6 Edge display will be curved on both sides, we do know for sure that we should definitely be expecting a curved flagship release.

The Galaxy S6 is one of the most anticipated handsets of next year and already people are getting hyped about the new smartphone since the Galaxy S5 has pretty much been a disappointment and a design fail on the part of Samsung. Since the company has encountered a significant drop in Galaxy smartphone sales, the Galaxy S6 flagship alongside its curved brother should be able to wash out the sour taste of the Galaxy S5 from our moths. The Galaxy S6 will probably sport a 5.5 inch display with either a 2K or 4 K display, powered by a Snapdragon 810 and another version by an Exynos 7420 CPU, 16 or 20 MP rear camera and a metal unibody. The metal unibody is still in question, but we are sure we will see at least a metal frame surface on the Galaxy S6. What do you think about Samsung releasing another flagship with a curved display? Do you think the Galaxy S6 Edge will bring an… edge to the smartphone market?
