Motorola Moto G Second Generation: Includes LTE, Longer Battery Life?

Motorola Moto G could now finally come with the LTE connectivity that Motorola fans have been calling for since the phone’s announcement back in September. Motorola has yet to make an official announcement for the second generation of the Motorola Moto G. So, how did word of Moto G’s specs come out? The second generation Moto G had its spec sheet revealed to the world on Motorola’s Brazil site. While this isn’t a slam dunk confirmation from Motorola themselves, the newly revealed specs from Motorola Brazil certainly hold more water than, say, unnamed italian sources. So besides finally succmbing to pressure to include LTE connectivity, what else has Motorola included in their newest iteration of the Moto G? According to Motorola Brazil, the new Moto G boasts a heartier battery which clocks in at 2390mAh compared to the 2070mAh powercell in the current 3G version of the Moto G. The LTE enabled Moto G will also come with 16 GB of onboard storage which is double that of the current 8 GB that you can get on the current model.

With all those updates, is there anything that remains similar between the first and second generations of the Motorola Moto G? Well, the Motorola Brazil spec sheet shows that there will be plenty of common ground between the two generations. Both the new Moto G LTE enabled and the Moto G 3G will be powered by the quad core Snapdragon 400 that clocks in at 1.2 GHz. You’ll also get 1 GB of RAM on both variants and the same 732 x 1280 resolution 5 inch screen that’s set behind IPS glass. The same front facing 2 megapixel camera and 8 mega pixel cameras will adorn both versions of the smartphone as well. While there has been no price point listed (though, honestly not surprising since this version has yet to be officially announced), word on the internet’s, uh, street say that it could come in at the Moto G 4G’s original price tag of $220.
