Jennifer Lawrence Teams with Spielberg to Play War Photographer

Jennifer Lawrence is rapidly making a name for herself along with her Hunger Games, which offered her the role of rebellions and adventurous Katniss Everdeen. With the Games’ Mockingjay – Part 2 waiting to be released in October 2015, Jennifer Lawrence adds more and more promising roles to her portfolio. The latest news was forwarded by Deadline, according to which young Jennifer is settled to team with director Steven Spielberg for her future project. Warner Bros is also in the picture.

Jennifer Lawrence is meant to portray Lynsey Addario, the American and award-winning photojournalist. The picture is said to be entitled It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life of Love and War and will be based on the memoir by Lynsey Addario. The status of the photographer who will be played by Jennifer Lawrence was influenced by her passion of photographing mostly conflicts and human rights issues, with special focus on the role of women in traditional societies. This inclination towards immortalizing social activities turned Addario into an award-winning and internationally famous photographer. Lynsey Addario has traveled to war-torn countries like Afghanistan, Libya and Iraq (and according to sources, was even jailed for a couple of days in Libya in 2011). The photographer was thus rewarded for her work with prizes like the MacArthur Fellowship in 2009, with her work in Waziristan (Sept. 7, 2008) bringing her the Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting in 2009.

Other bidders for the role of photographer Lynsey Addario were Reese Witherspoon (with Working Title), nominated for an Oscar as Best Actress in a Leading Role for her part in Wild, Natalie Portman known as Black Swan, Margot Robbie, starring in current box office lead action movie Focus, along with Will Smith, whereas The Weinstein Company was bidding for George Clooney and Grant Heslov. The result is undebatable; Steven Spielberg as director and Jenifer Lawrence as lead are two ingredients which might turn It’s What I Do: A Photographer’s Life of Love and War into a highly expected picture.
