Beverly Carter’s Murderer Charged

The body of Beverly Carter was found buried in a shallow grave near Cabot, on Tuesday. The suspect in the case of Beverly Carter’s abduction, Arron Lewis, has pleaded guilty to the kidnapping. He stated that he was advised by his lawyer to plead innocent, but he wanted to admit the truth so the entire scandal would quickly be over.

Lewis stated he would have pleaded guilty even when faced with the death penalty. Arron Lewis was spotted after getting involved in a car accident and admitted to the hospital. On Sunday, after his car crash, he left the hospital without notifying authorities, only to be arrested on Monday. He admitted to having kidnapped Beverly Carter, but refused to say where the woman was at first. The 33-year old suspect later divulged some information which led the police to the property where the body of Beverly Carter was buried. Beverly Carter and Lewis were not acquainted with each other prior to the kidnapping incident. Doc Holladay, the Sheriff of Pulaski County declared: “This case did not end as we had hoped. But now we must move forward to prepare a case for submission for trial that will result in the pursuit of justice.” Lewis declared he hadn’t seen Beverly Carter for two days and that he had a co-defendant named Trevor, who supposedly serves in the U.S. Air Force. When he was asked about his link to the co-defendant, he said they only communicated through texts.

Beverly Carter’s family is devastated by the incident: “We are devastated at the loss of our precious Beverly. There is now a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. Mr. Lewis robbed us of an amazing wife, loving mother and grandmother. Her grandkids will never get to know the magnitude of her greatness. We draw some comfort in knowing that she is now in the arms of Jesus. God bless you all.”

It seems the only reason why Beverly Carter became the victim of Aaron Lewis is her wealth. Lewis stated that he kidnapped her because Beverly Carter was a woman who used to work alone and was very rich. Police officials have not stated clearly what led them to arrest Lewis for the kidnapping of Beverly Carter. However, they said Lewis acted suspicious while he was investigated as a suspect. Police hasn’t disclosed how Beverly Carter died, but they did mention that the alleged co-defendant, Trevor, was not being considered a suspect.
