iPhone 6 Plus wins big in the US

iPhone 6 Plus appears to be a beast in phablet sales. According to Kantar Worldpanel, a WPP -owned market researcher, the Apple product led phablet US sales by 41 percent while the little iPhone 6 had 33 percent. The phablet generated enough success to establish itself as a worthy contender against Samsung’s Galaxy Note series. With the iPhone 6 Plus, phablet sales have seized a full 10 percent of smartphone sales. A big leap as opposed to 2013’s 2 percent sales.

The infromation released by Kantar was gathered in just a month of the market researcher’s 3 month study. The iPhone 6’s 3 month analysis may suggest that the smartphone outsold the phablet with a margin of 3 to 1.  Phablets seem to be the next big thing, and by big we can also refer to the screen size. As opposed to the regular iPhone 6 smartphone, the iPhone 6 Plus phablet has a 5.5 inch screen, a factor that proved decisive for those who were undecided. Kantar noted that 58 percent of those surveyed bought the Iphone 6 Plus for the screen size whereas 85 percent of buyers already had a past with Apple products and were loyal to the brand.

Besides the big screen, the iPhone 6 Plus has an Apple A8 processor and an Apple M8 co- processor, a good mix for speed and movement. The phablet will also promise a longer battery life by over 50 % in some areas. iPhone 6 Plus comes in 3 variants storage wise: there’s the 16 GB  one that costs 299 $ , the 64 GB with a price tag of 399 $ and the 128 GB Iphone 6 Plus that’s 499 $.

Because the time frame in which the iPhone 6 Plus was analyzed by Kantar is slightly constrained, we won’t know for sure until the next quarter how big in sales the phablet is.On the Android side, the Galaxy S5 captured 22 percent sales wise and Galaxy S4 maintained its well earned second place with 12 percent.
